After quite a few years at Avsim.com, followed by more than 8 years at simFlight.com, working as passionate news editor, reviewer, moderator, forum admin, marketing guy and event speaker, it was time for something new.

My roots are in the flight simulation hobby, being at it for over 35 years now. I haven’t gotten rich of it, since it was ‘just’ a hobby. In fact I have hardly been able to make a living with it at all, ever since I tried from 2005 onwards. But some things you just can’t deny yourself.

And so SimNews will continue in that tradition and be another labor of love.

The Mission:

to provide (flight simulator) news – AND other aviation related topics – on an IRREGULAR basis and with a twist!

How’s that for something different, eh? Different from all the other also-runs in flight simulator land, filling their pages with RSS feeds and otherwise copied material from the two or three major FS websites.
How boooooooring ! I guess we cannot always be happy with the technological progress, and the current day software has made it a tad too easy for every Dick and Johnny to build a ‘news site’. Mind you, there ARE a few genuine ones, and I am not talking about those here.

Well, power to them, and happy reading.

But I am making MY news site more of an ‘opinionated blog’ with a focus on flight simming in specific, and aviation in general. I’ll run the obvious press release – IF I have time – and will tell you of OUR OWN products of course.
But you’ll also find critical notes on products and activities, as well as enthusiastic support for others.

This is MY site with MY opinion(s) and I don’t need to be as ‘political correct’ as I had to in the past. Nor will I be bound by ‘other interests’ here, except my own. So yes, I may step on some toes. If they happen to be yours, just move your foot, quickly, and move on.
